Mission Accomplished

March, 30, 2014 marked the end of my 28 day journey on the Fast Metabolism Diet. I lost a total of 7 pounds and while that might not seem significant to most it made a tremendous difference in the way I feel and the way my clothes fit. The more you weigh the more you lose, so I’d like to think that I am on track. I took the journey to repair my metabolism, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I have a new perspective on how to eat as well as what type of food my body enjoys.

The Monday after I completed this journey I knew I would dive into a glass of wine, or succumb to any refined sugars that had been forbidden for 28 days. However, Monday found me following the same routine. Of course I incorporated other foods from the different phases but other than that I did not deviate. My body felt so alive that I was scared to hate on it again with processed foods. Even though I’m off the plan I’m still eating the same way, but this time it’s because I choose to.

My diet consists of fruits, vegetables, sprouted grain breads, quinoa, steel-cut oats, coconut oil, raw nuts, salmon, shrimp and tuna. I attended a luncheon last week and asked for a veggie plate and was offended that it included white rice. Famished I ate it only after saying a quick pray willing my metabolism to do what it had been in training for and that was to burn baby burn. I did, however, dive into a decadent piece of chocolate cake but I only ate half. I was so proud of myself. As of right now, food does not have the same hold on me as it once did. If I ever find myself getting out of control in the future I’m sure I will do the Fast Metabolism diet again. I will probably do it twice a year as a tune-up. Not only do I feel good, but it taught me discipline and nutrition survival skills.

I would recommend this diet to anyone. Did I mention that I lost an extra pound the week after? Yep, I could not believe it! Now it’s 8 pounds total!!

Give it a try if you need a quick metabolism fix. 28 days of clean eating is a must!
